Disclaimer: I worked with Patrick on publishing this book through the Law Practice Division, and strongly recommend this book for any litigator who is interested in considering different business models for a trial practice.
Patrick does a great job explaining the basic concepts of alternative fee arrangements and why they make sense in a litigation practice. He discusses some of the tools lawyers can use to make AFAs work, including early case assessment, decision trees, and after-action assessments, and he spends some time discussing the all-important ethical issues lawyers need to consider before offering AFAs to clients. A great guide for litigators and their clients.
